Time for Yourself

A visual meditation and Virtual outinG for you. Plus First Podcast!

Journey with me as I go out on a self-date. In this video vlog, which doubles as a visual meditation and virtual outing, I spend nourishing alone and explorative time at The Getty Museum in sunny Los Angeles. Taking time for ourselves is essential. It’s how we continually learn ourselves. It’s a great way to cultivate our inner-lives, inner-peace, and greater self-awareness and worth. And, it’s how we take our power back. Solitude is sacred!

Drop a comment below to let us know if you like this new style of vlogging. Your feedback helps us create more of what you’re loving. And, it helps us mix things up around here too! Yay!

Love you, so much! Relax, rest, and enjoy!

There are many reasons and times when being alone with yourself is cathartic, essential, necessary, and cleansing. Such as:

  • To process emotions, you're experiencing

  • To discharge heavy energy/s

  • To release emotional stress

  • To release what isn't yours vibrationally

  • To clear your mind

  • To seek and gain clarity

  • To listen to your inner voice

  • To connect to Higher Power

  • Refresh and reset your spirit, soul, mind, and vibrational field

Where are at least three places you can take yourself out on a self-date this summer ?

Things To Do Solo:

1. Volunteer time: go alone and spend a day away from your life and impact someone else's. What causes are you passionate about? Where/who can use your gifts. Volunteering is also a great way to learn new skills. A new craft in particular for me (although I wasn't alone) was learning to build a picket fence while volunteering with Habitat for Humanity. A whole picket fence, ya'll! The thing that stood out to me was that the process of building a fence felt like a meditation. It was the most relaxing deep physical labor! Who knew!?

2. Mother Nature: Let mother nature be your guide and companion. Nature is one of the most powerful, potent, and effective conduits available to us. Time spent in nature is soul medicine, it's cleansing, and most of the time it's free! Unless you're at a National Park or State Beach, whereas there 's a small fee to enter or park. These fees are contributions. They help with the upkeep of preserving these local and national natural spaces and treasures.

Go out and explore nature. Happy adventures to you! Don't litter.

3. Go to a sacred site or space: Spending time in sacred spaces alone is so very freeing. Without the company of someone else in your life present, you can allow your spirit and heart open up in profound ways that only alone and solitude time births. The good news is that The Most High and your divine guides are always with you.

Some of the other ways are:

Going to a garden

A favorite restaurant

A museum

A concert

Go check out a movie

Going hiking

Dropping in a new class

Hitting the road. Take a road trip

Other forms of travel

Use discernment and wisdom wherever you go. Stay mindful of your surroundings. Plan ahead. Leave a note with someone. Go have fun!

  1. What are your intentions for taking time for yourself?

  2. Go within. Listen. Where is your life and soul asking you to go?

  3. Can you feel and sense with clarity where you’re being called to expand and vibrate higher through solitude?

  4. Are there healthy boundaries in place to support your ‘me-time’?

  5. If not, how will you set them and honor them?

  6. What is your soul’s medicine this season? What’s nourishing you? What’s currently feeding your soul? Do more of that! Alone!

  7. Where in your life are you feeling lead to be alone more often?

  8. How will you honor the process?

Today’s class will be held by the lovely India (me!). I’m Lalah’s daughter, for those who don’t know, and I serve as a VHD team member. I’m so overjoyed to be sharing my insight on the desert terrain, as I’m currently journeying through one in this season of my life. Being that I am indeed a millennial, 21, I’m fully aware of the significance of acknowledging, recognizing, and knowing how to navigate through your desert early on in life.

Throughout life, we may be called to go to a sacred place within ourselves, with ourselves, to purge, receive, release, make space for new, disconnect, become “you” again, open ourselves up for spiritual growth, enter a new season/ chapter in your life, and so much more!

In this video, I’ll be giving you a fresh perspective on how to successfully recognize and/or overcome your terrain to assist you in reaching your fullest potential. Because ultimately, that’s what it’s all about! :)

Boundaries are about living in honor and reverence to who you are as a vessel and soul being, and not entwining yourself with what isn’t in service to your highest good, or with the higher good of the collective. It’s not personal, it’s vibrational. It’s energy.

Keep a mindful eye on what’s happening in your body, in your personal space, and in the settings around you while out in public spaces. When you're observant, you have more power to respond instead of react. And to tend to your body’s needs. You have the power. Distinguish what yours and what’s someone else’s vibration and projections. Acknowledge any areas you’re being called to do the work, to restore, to nourish, to nurture, to heal, to charge, to slow down, to release, to move, and so on.

Be mindful and observant of what you’re taking in and being exposed to and how much.

You’ve done the work, now it’s time to guard your body temple. Doing the work is a form protection.

Stay Ready. Fortify. Do more of what sharpens you, nourishes you, and gives you power: mind, body, spirit, soul, vibrational. This helps you to show up ready and in your power, and to remain composed, graceful, and poised.

  1. How have you been treating your body?

  2. Are you loving your body into well being?

  3. Do you speak empowering words that serve and affirm your body, or that don’t?

  4. Are you listening to your body and honoring what it’s communicating to you?

  5. Are you honoring your body as the temple and sacred ground that it is?

  2. What about your body are you grateful for?

  3. What is your body thriving from as of lately?

  4. What is depleting it and/or causing not to thrive?

  5. Where can you send more love within?

  6. How can you poise and fortify yourself to show up in your power?

Women Supporting Women

As women, we are taking our place in the world more and more daily.

We are rising out of lives and relationships of all sorts that no longer serve us, or that never have, and making space for lives and relationships that will.

Vibrating higher daily, also looks like being a great sister friend and creating the necessary community of high vibrations for each other to feel nurtured, held, and supported in. It also means, taking those high vibrations out into the wider world around you, as medicine and nourishment, through all you contribute to the collective.

As we journey in power and grace, we can help our sister friends do the same. We can become beacons and create powerful support systems, so all in the sisterhood thrive and reach higher potentials.

If you don’t yet have the sisterhood, no worries, you can call it in. That’s exactly what I have done throughout my journey. Sometimes, different levels of growth, requires new sister friends to show up in your life. And you in theirs. As you do the work of vibrating higher daily, and living in your purpose and power, they show up.

Through divine alignment, certain higher friendships will only manifest and materialize once you’ve done ‘the work’ and have developed and unfolded in necessary ways, and are vibrating at a certain frequency to match them.

Doing the work is how the sisterhood assembles itself.

Women showing up and supporting other women is ancestral and tribal.

  6. Show up, pitch in, and mean it

  1. Do you have a sisterhood? If not, what actions will you gracefully take to call in and manifest your sisterhood?

  2. What is the vibration of your sisterhood?

  3. How can you show up in a supportive and high vibrational way?

  5. Who in sisterhood inspires you? How is this person standing in her power and being a gracious beacon and sister? How can you support her back?

  6. Who is no longer serving you in sisterhood? How will you set firmer boundaries, heal the disharmony, or detach, release, and move on? What way feels highest vibrational to you?

  7. How will you take deliberate and intentional action towards sisterhood?

  8. How will your sisterhood positively serve the collective world?

Here’s the MindBodyGreen article I contributed to. Also featuring a couple of my close dear friends in sisterhood:

30 Ways To Actually

Empower Women

"When it comes to actually slowing down and taking the necessary time we need out for self-care, we sometimes need reinforcements to make sure we actually slow down and do so," Lalah Delia tells mbg. "Being a reinforcer for one another in this way could look like helping to create the space and container for self-care time to actualize. Such as: covering the workload or chores for a sister friend, picking up her children and giving her time off, helping to extract her from her rigid routine and life for a while, running her a spa-style bath at her place or yours, scheduling her a massage or other spa treatment, making her a nourishing herbal tonic to slow down and gather herself, and just basically helping her to take a pause from her life, and not allowing her to resume until she is refueled, re-nourished, and feeling like herself again. This is a great way to be in service, as vessels, to the ones we love."

Taking Up Space

Soul + Vibration + Spirit

As you vibrate higher daily, you’ll divinely be called upon to take up space. This is also part of doing the work.

We can often become attached to our comfort zones, or feel unqualified to move into our power in certain spaces and in various relationship dynamics. It’s not that we are unqualified at all. It’s often that we are afraid of what might happen if we do take up space and shine our light: stand in our power. Will we be judged or mocked?

I’ve learned that no longer taking what other people think or feel about me taking up space, personally, is a way I can ultimately take up space!

The gift and light your carry and have been given, has a higher purpose, and as you stand in your power and enter spaces and journey onward, you help to honor this higher purpose you are a conduit and vessel for.

”Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Stillness, Mind Hacks + Composure

“No longer reacting to people who trigger who is one of the best ways to strengthen your spiritual muscles.”

– Lalah Delia

There are many reasons why you may desire to still your mind, to mind hack, and to gain deeper composure.

Maybe it’s due to a spiritual path you’re feeling the call to begin.  Maybe you need the stillness to focus on healing, recovering, and restoring. Maybe you desire to slow your life and your thoughts down in order to have a more nourished being and more inner-peace.

Maybe it’s to take your power back. Or, to heighten your creativity.

Maybe it’s to take a stand and to signal clear boundary.

Whatever your inspiration may be, know that stillness is a spiritual response, as is a composed spirit. They’re powerful ones!
