Honor The Process

Back To The Basics

As we all may know, spirituality is a sacred journey that we've been collectively embarking on since the moment we were born, as we are all spiritual beings. Thanks to social media, we now have access to viewing other people's paths and sharing what our journey looks like, as well. We're also able to follow and learn from some of our favorite spiritual teachers and inspirations. Much gratitude for that!!

On the other hand, especially during this time, it's essential to stay away from 'spiritual comparison’. It can be easy to compare our lives to others and to what someone is or isn't doing, whether it be spiritual trips out of/ within the country, high-end workshops, trendy yoga studios, sound bath healing sessions, etc. While all of these things are amazing spiritual tools and experiences, know that it's okay if you aren't able to do all of them now (or ever).

Ultimately, all you need in your spiritual journey is you, and the will to do whatever it takes to vibrate higher, journey in grace, and live your power. Everything else is just a bonus.

Words to ground into:

This is all temporary. Love yourself through it.
— Lalah Delia

Even for those who usually can have extravagant spiritual practices and experiences that involve leaving home, it's all being put on pause for right now. In both cases, it can be quite the adjustment when the 'norm' has turned into something that is no longer accessible, especially during this time of quarantine and social distancing. Our normal looks different now. Maybe there’s a supportive, spiritual, or creative community, you’re away from that’s causing you to feel all-the-more alone and rogue. Most of us are having to find alternative ways to cope, adjust, take care, and vibrate higher daily!! With so many of our outside resources being temporarily restricted, we have been called to return back to the basics!!

It's important to remember that even though we may not always be able to control the things that we go through, we still have the power to chose how we will respond to and come out of each situation. Allow your higher power to anchor you and lead the way during this time. Fear may try to take control, but don't allow its energy of defeat to take over due to the change that occurs in your life; instead, let the situation guide you and push you out of your comfort zone.

Remember, you're already on a spiritual journey; what you do in each moment is apart of that journey. All that’s required to be 'spiritual' is you, and the time we're currently in is reminding us of that.

Find your soul's medicine

Back To The Basics

Free-care Practices

Here at Vibrate Higher Daily, we refer to free-care as the nurturing things that are 100% free to do, access, and implement. Some of the best medicines for the soul, mind, vibration, and spirit, are all free. Here are 12 powerhouse free-care practices to keep you going:

1 deep breathing

Breathwork helps quiet the mind and bring you back to the present moment. Presence allows you to focus on the here and now and to surrender to it, rather than worry about the past or future. Consecutive deep breaths will guide you back to a calm state, equanimity, and a sense of higher-awareness.

2 Gratitude

Gratitude is how you take your power back. It helps bring your mind back to an empowered state. Through scientific research, it's now been proven that you can't be angry or sad, and grateful, at the same time. Gratitude will help bring you back to a balanced amd renewed state. Gratitude also brings more to be grateful for into your life.

3 Prayer

Prayer is a great way to connect to The Divine, your angels, and spirit guides and ask for assistance with what you desire. Not only in times of uncertainty or chaos, but in every moment of our lives, prayer is a spiritual portal.

4 meditation

Meditation is a powerful tool for healing, quieting the mind, deep contemplation, and hearing what you're not hearing in your waking life. It can also be a great getaway from your current environment, and wherever you decide to go is up to your imagination. Take a meditative trip and enjoy the journey!!

5 Proper Rest

Proper rest is essential because our bodies need it to rejuvenate and cleanse from the day. Proper rest helps us develop properly and maintain optimal health.

On a spiritual tip, rest helps our spirit to recharge and fill up so we may can continue to vibrate higher, make rational choices and decisions, connect to our intuition better, and sustain higher awareness.

6 mindfulness

Mindfulness is a great tool to help you show up as a compassionate, loving, helpful, and better being towards others. It also sets a positive example for those around you and is a great way to avoid conflict or energy drainage. Peace to equanimity!!

7 Creative Expression

For a lot of people, creativity is also a healing practice. Creativity can look like writing, singing, cooking, painting, drawing, learning new creative arts, etc.

Creativity helps us get our mind off of things and express our passions, or even birth new passions, by doing the things that we love. It can be very cathartic and helps us get through anytime.

8 Laughter

Laughter is medicine that helps us release stress and tension. Allowing ourselves to be light about situations by seeking the comedic-relief in it all will help us pull through. Also, funny movies or finding ways to be humorous with yourself or loved ones is a way of release as well. Say good to bitterness or strife setting in!! Hello grace!!

9 Keeping Your Equanimity

Equanimity is not allowing what others are doing to get into you. It's keeping their 'stuff' theirs, and remaining in your power and higher vibration. It's a state of composure, inner-peace, self-control, and mature-warmth. It's beautiful.

Practicing equanimity is not to be confused with being cold, aloof, apathetic, or numb; equanimity means feeling and responding from your power.

Discernment allows you to recognize if a response from you is necessary at all.

10 Leaning on Your Faith

During times of uncertainty, unstableness, and challenge, leaning on your faith and your higher power will guide you to the light; especially when it seems as if we’re journeying through a dim light tunnel. Having faith and believing that everything will work out for your higher good even when you're unsure, is how you take your spiritual power back.

11 journeying in grace

Release your inner critic. Any moment you don't find yourself meeting the mark–whatever that means to you–you can always take your power back by journeying in grace. Grace is unconditional. Relieving exhale!!

Live Your Power

Emotional Tools for Restoring Your Strength

How are your heart, mind, emotions, and moods as of lately?

We've been living in a state of the unknown for what seems like countless days now. Our lives have changed on personal levels and on common and collective ones.

Life, on an overall level, continues to look different than what we were used to, and we've been forced to adapt and ride this universal experience out: prepared, skilled, ready or not. BAM!! Welcome to the spiritual storm and terrains.

Through the mindset of exploration and hope, the world has always carried onward.

Words to ground into:

I think exploration of the unknown, whether it’s the unknown of the universe around us, or just the unknown that’s within each of us, we can work that into the reality of life, and be joyful as a result, of the hope of exploring the unknown.
— Chris Hadfield

If you’re experiencing any of the following questions, now, or later, this blog is for you:

  1. Is your nervous system feeling overstimulated? Is moodiness creeping in?

  2. Are fears or old triggers testing your mental strength and inner sense of freedom?

  3. Is comfort eating at an undesired all-time high for you?

  4. Are you feeling a sense of ungrounded-ness and unstableness?

  5. Can't seem to find peace amid the storm of uncertainty?

The good news is that feeling any way you have been feeling is okay. We all process life events differently. My intention is to offer you a path out of any emotion that feels: constricting, dominating, intrusive, undesired, and like it doesn't help you thrive and vibrate higher through this time, or any other.

When the turbulent winds, storms, and waves of life and change come, we can still move through our day, and lives, with a sense a purpose. We still matter to The Divine, to this planet, to one another, and we still have a unique higher calling within us. May nothing be able to separate you from yourself, your uniqueness, or your higher calling!!

So be it.

Emotional Tools

01.

We all have access to a higher power and wisdom than ourselves, The Divine realm

Our inner voice is a powerful way. Take time to listen and hear what it has to teach you. The quieter and stiller you become, the better you can hear, sense, and vibrate into it.

02 .

Answers, or relief, may not always come in the form we expect them to arrive in

Be open to what may be used to communicate and speak to you, and to bring sweet relief.

This looks like keeping an open heart and mind, letting go of strict guidelines, timeframes, and expectations, and expanding your subconscious beliefs, worth, and thoughts, into new and higher possibility and potential.

03.

This busy world around us has long been set up to distract us, even in our healing

Take time away, to clear the distractions, and to heal in peace. Become cognizant of what is essential and what isn’t. Healing and renewing of the mind is a critical time to declutter the energy and vibrations coming through to you by limiting their access to you.

04.

Connecting to a Higher power and source will sustain you

Anchor into your 'rock’. Seek refuge in your faith and spiritual cover, community, practice, and tools.

05.

Allow yourself to be creative

High vibrational creativity, as in creativity with good and pure intentions, is a healing practice and spiritual means of co-creation with The Divine. Creative-expression is soul medicine. Journey in courage with your gifts.

06.

Serve others

Helping other people releases dopamine and endorphins our feel-good chemicals/neurotransmitters. Serving with a joyful heart, and not a spiteful or bitter one, is a spiritual principle of many sacred teachings.

Be mindful of your energy when serving, helping, and supporting. Show up with your whole heart and mean it. Bring warmth.

07.

Gratitude is how you take your power back

It's been scientifically researched and shown that the mind can't be angry, sad, and grateful at the same time. We chose which vibration we give our power to. Be mindful of this inner-authority.

Gratitude is also proven to increase inner peace and joy. Shift into this mindset, space, and focus to return home to yourself and to your higher potential. Practicing gratitude for even the smallest things relieves and shifts the mind higher.

08.

Journey in grace

Life isn't about perfection. Some days we reach our higher potential, and on other days, we miss the mark. Grace reminds us that either way, we are enough, we are still full of higher purpose and divine beauty.

These words of Nelson Mandela come to mind, "I never lose. I either win, or I learn." That's also what grace looks like. Journey in grace–in all areas of your life!!

09.

Slow Down

Sometimes, our nervous systems are merely tired and over-processed. At times the frantic pace of the world can keep you from enjoying peace. When this is the case, it's time to slow down, tune everyone you can out, and go within.

Slowing your life, schedule, and day, down to a pace that your soul requires for balance, is medicinal. Slowness also allows us to become more present in the now. Tune out the distractions. Declutter your schedule. Unplug and slow live. Cook and eat a meal in slowness. Create in slowness.

Be with your loved ones in slowness. This is mindfulness in action. Fastness, busyness, and overworking ourselves, to keep up, is not helping us thrive. Enjoy your own healing and thriving pace.

10.

Dopamine

Dopamine is an important brain chemical that influences your mood and feelings. Dopamine helps to relieve depression, brain fog, memory loss, and lack of focus, enthusiasm, or motivation in life.

Proper sleep and rest, music, balanced and healthy nutrition, meditation, sunlight, adequate iron levels, multi-vitamins, B6 or B-Complex, probiotics, exercise, warmth, hot Epsom salt baths, and movement, along with mindfulness tools such as kindness and compassion, all help with increasing your body’s natural production of dopamine and helping your brain and emotions function at their best and higher vibration.

Explore into what brings you to balance, peace, and joy. It can be a simple cup of tea that does it, serving someone, creativity, spiritual practice, resting, vibing out to music, taking herbs and adaptogens, dancing and moving with your body, or meditating. There are many effective ways.

Emotion Supporting Products I love:

Fennel Tea

Rescue Remedy by Bach's Flower Remedy

Good Mood by Herb Pharm

Sun Potion’s Ashwagandha

Charlottes Webb's CBD

Moon Juice's Spirit Dust

The flower essence Clematis, is powerful for feeling a more profound sense of being grounded, safe, and secure within our own bodies, minds, and lives. This flower-remedy is helpful for anyone feeling ungrounded, unstable, afraid, and not secure during this uncertain time.

All of these are useful in quickly calming the nervous system and restoring inner-harmony and balance.

If you're finding it hard to carry the weight of your emotions on your own, seek the support of a trusted loved one, spiritual community, support-hotline, or a qualified practitioner. You don't have to navigate this time or any other, alone.

The Blessed Man, who brought this blog much warmth and music medicine.

Nervous System Lean In

Vibrate HIgher Daily:

Nervous System Lean In

Surviving the ebb and flow, vicissitudes, uncertainties, and wildness of life can be no joke. Until that is, you have a 'survival kit', to get you through, over, and beyond to the other side. Growth, expansion, shifts, and transformation are all essential to life (and the progressing and evolution of it). Personal growth, evolution, and change, are sometimes accompanied by growing pains, setbacks, unfamiliar times, and even wonkiness. And through its own transition, the world, experiences the same things.

No matter what got us here and what all’s at fault, here we are in the middle of it. While no one truly knows where this is going or for how long we will journey through uncertainty, I believe in the real force of vibrating higher daily, living our power, and journeying in grace, to carry us through and over. I believe in our soul’s resiliency. Now is the time to remain ‘doing the work’, and to allow all of the time we’ve spent growing, learning, in spiritual practice, in self-care, healing and raising our vibrations, to sustain us.

Anchor into what you’ve gloriously built for yourself. And live from there!!

So in the context of current times, I put together a 'survival kit' list for your nervous system, which is always responsible for processing your life and its experiences. Read on!!

Words to ground into:

Supporting your nervous system through times of change and transformation is critical; it helps you return to your power.
— Lalah Delia

The Nervous System

As a Helper

The NS is our primary connection to this world and beyond it. It's what connects our mind, body, and spirit. The NS has 3 main functions: to receive, interpret, and to respond. When cultivated and listened to, it can become your own personal teacher and guide. Don't neglect or ignore it. Stay in tune with it, and it'll make sure you thrive and live your best life!!

Sympathetic Nervous System

Think survival mode, fight or flight, and response to danger. When we don't take time to seek equanimity, balance, calmness, and high vibrations in our life, we can live in a perpetual state of fight or flight. When this is the case, we remain far away from ourselves and from the true feelings of home, peace, security, and inner-thriving. Through mindfully nurturing and caring for yourself, you can triumphantly come back home to yourself.

Parasympathetic Nervous System

Think zen'd the heck out!! Or spiritual G!! No more fight or flight mode. Welcome back home to yourself!! This is the part of your NS that's able to take over to help you vibrate higher through whatever you find yourself facing and journeying through. It helps you live your power. The suggestions on this list, in one way or the other, all support the activation of the parasympathetic nervous system.

Spiritual Connection

Stay aligned and fortified spiritually. This allows you to stay anchored to a Higher Power that will not allow you to get lost in storms, waves, pain, and the ebb and flow of life. Daily spiritual-work in the early mornings is a powerful way to connect, ground, align with a higher power, and fortify. Check-in with yourself and The Divine for a spirit re-up midday and in the evenings as well. Take time to nurture this part of you that isn’t physical. Nothing supports the nervous system like a composed, nourished, strengthened, graceful, and refreshed spirit. Daily spiritual connection keeps you poised.

Supplements

Vitamin B12, Vitamin B complex, Vitamin C, and D12 help to restore emotional balance and support the immune system. Vitamin D12 is also great for creative energy, enhanced sleep quality, and for healthy respiratory function. A happy and healthy nervous system promotes a happy and healthy immune system.

Vitamin A is helpful to the respiratory system. Garlic is powerful and anti-viral. Olive leaf is also anti-viral.

Herbs For Stress, Anxiousness, Mental Clarity & Vitality

Sea Moss, Hawthorne, Lemon Balm, Kava, Valerian, Chamomile, Lavender, Rosemary, Cinnamon, Periwinkle, Maca, are amongst many great ones. Dr. Sebi’s Sea Moss changed my (entire) life when I was first seeking to take my power back, emotional and energy wise, back in 2008. Some of the adaptogens to support for the NS and healthy brain function and/or vitality are Ashwagandha, Reishi, Lion's Mane, Gota Kola, Rhodiola and Cordyceps. Each of these at some point have been aides on my day to day journey, and continue to be. They are staples in my kitchen and in many healthy kitchen out there, for a reason. These herbs and adaptogens can be used in tonics, teas, beverages, soups, broths, and other recipes, and for some, in organic pure oil form for aromatherapy and topical application. Start where and with what you can. No need to go out get all of these right away. I slowly built my wellness cupboard up, through lots of trial and testing. Explore to find what works best for you and your unique goals and concerns. Some days I’m led to work with only one herb, and on other days, a few or many. You’ll find your way!!

Flower Essences

Clematis flower essence brings you back home to yourself in times of stress, fear, or uncertainty. It helps you ground into your power and peace.

The Right Foods Support Your Nervous System

The right foods empower you!! Yes!! The wrong foods decrease NS and brain function and throw us all off balance, think: sugars, caffeine, chemicals, preservatives, enriched grains, artificial colors, low quality oils like vegetable and canola, and so on. The nervous system thrives on real food. Staples that are widely proved and approved are dark leafy greens, healthy proteins, healthy fats like avocados and avocado oil, root foods, minerals, and calming and stress relieving herbs like cinnamon, chamomile, ginger, and lavender. Explore with it. Enter the game-changing rabbit hole of of healing foods. Happy exploring!!

Somatic Healing

I share in my book that "the issues are in our tissues until we release them." We have a sympathetic nervous system that’s a pro at energetically holding onto things we experience, think, and feel.

As magnetic beings, we are absorbers of energy all day long. If we don't have a way to discharge unwanted energies, anxiousness, trauma, and stress from the body, it can turn into physical discomfort and sickness, known as somatic symptoms/stress. And most often, the illness cannot be 100% medically diagnosed or linked to any known ailment or disease, which is most frustrating to experience. Thus the somatic symptoms become a 'mystery illness' or misdiagnosed. This was the case for me, personally, and for so many others. Healing can happen, though; it did with me, as well as for others. And at times, somatic healing is an ongoing process for some. Which is well and ok. Let the healing process take all the time it needs.

Be intentional with yourself–as an energy magnet, highly sensitive, empath, and spiritual and human being.

Way to release/heal somatic stress: Somatic movement, exercises, and therapy break up stagnant energy in the body and help to release and remove trapped energies and emotions that are causing the somatic symptoms. Other healing has come through African dance and drumming (an ancient healing practice still in effect today), vocal exercises, detoxing, deep breathing, spiritual-healing, brain entrainment, subconscious reprogramming, psychotherapy, and various forms of meditation. Move it out!!

Turn Your Stress Into Movement and Sweat

Exercise and physical movement break up stress and stagnant energy in the body. Go for a walk, run, break a sweat, do deep breathing exercises, take a warm bath, sit in a sauna. Move it out. Sweat it out.

Discharge the Energy, Bathe Away Heavy Vibes

Salt is a powerful mineral to work with for energy cleansing!! Soaking in a [very] warm Epsom salt bath helps to draw out energy, stress, and impurities. Once you begin sweating, the powerful cleansing show begins!! 20 to 45 minutes is a good rule of thumb. Keep a towel for sweat and water to hydrate within arms reach. Add in your favorite essential oils and/or bathing teas and herbs. A few of my favorites to work with are ginger, eucalyptus, lavender, lemon balm, rose, and rosemary. Rinse off with a cool or cold shower to enhance the cleanse and to raise your vibration.

Lymphatic Care

The lymphatic system is your primary drainage system for removing toxins from the body. It and the immune system go hand and hand. A happy lymphatic system is a happy and healthy immune system.

By removing stagnant energy and toxins from the body, a healthy lymphatic system positively enhances and improves emotional health.

Some of the things that awaken your lymphatic system are: alternating between hot and cold water while showering, dry brushing, lymphatic massages, a liver detox, lemon water, movement/exercise/walking, castor oil packs, and lymphatic stimulant oils such as citrus and flower based oils.

Get It Out of Your Mind and Body

Free it. Let it out. Use journaling, writing, free-writing, free-recording, singing, chanting, or physical movement and dance (like no one’s watching) to release whatever 'it' represents to you.

Metaphorical Terrains and Weather

Our mental and emotional journey is a reflection of nature. There are mountains, oceans, deserts, fog, and storms. If you have my new book, Vibrate Higher Daily: Live Your Power, this section located in chapter 2 will help give you light, guidance, confidence, and language for navigating the current terrain and weather you find yourself journeying through.

Cheers to vibrating higher and living your power through even this!!
