Spiritual Living:

To Enhance Your Life

A personal reflection from Lalah

More and more, these times are calling for all of us. Our fragmented parts are being called back home, and the yearning for more, for depth, and for authenticity is rising like never before in us. This yearning is not for trivial reasons and definitely not for social media validation. It is for something much greater and critical. It’s for the soul. It’s for the mind. It’s for what is happening in the spiritual realm: interdimensionally, energetically, and across all levels of being and existence.

Much of what happens in this world can feel and look like a distraction, because it is. But if we can remain steady in the midst of distraction, with equanimity and spiritual anchoring, as beacons of light, we become stewards of divine frequency, carriers of divine essence, vessels of divine presence and purpose.

I feel more and more called to tune out the chatter, to disconnect from the noise, and to lean into what is real, potent, and spiritually full of substance, guidance, medicine, and direction.

Since the recent passing of my grandmother, this calling has only deepened. I’m sitting and breathing with it daily. I know she has but crossed into another realm, and her legacy shall continue through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the generations still to come. Her life reminds me of what it means to be a future ancestor, to live in such a way that our choices ripple forward, shaping timelines, shifting paths, and carrying generations forward. For me, that is spiritual living. It’s what I witnessed in my grandmother and grandfathers. It is the divine assignment I feel pressed all the more upon my heart in these days. There is a shift happening in me and through me, and I am allowing it. I am nurturing it and praying my way through it. And there’s lots of plant medicines, herbal teas, and healing foods I’m consuming to help with the capacity and the process.

And I wonder. Are you feeling a strong calling, too? Is it showing up for you as a desire to expand or deepen your path, to begin again, to restore, or to rise into a higher level of truth and resonance? Are you losing interest in the distractions?

However it is reaching you, remember that spiritual living is not only in the moments of prayer, meditation, or sacred space. It is also in the mundane and ordinary too. It’s in the moments we playfully or unplayfully side-eye or dismiss as unessential. It’s also found in the liminal, in-between spaces, and those supporting acts of daily life that feel more like chores than sacred time. But, they are spiritual too.

I now see it all as spiritual practice. Not separate from it.

For me, for instance, that looks like cleaning my home, clearing my kitchen, folding laundry, clearing off my desk after a work day, preparing my home for the day or evening, navigating traffic, grocery shopping, answering emails, running errands, and many other things. Over the years, I’ve come to see that a clean home is one of the most powerful spiritual practices. As the saying goes, cleanliness is next to godliness. When there is cleanliness and order, the mind and spirit can tap into the God-mind more easily. Even something as simple as washing a car can change how it drives, and metaphysically, our lives respond the same way.

When we keep our lives “clean” through nourishing food, through vitality-filled practices, through clearing our energy fields and environments we create space for spirit to dwell fully. We honor the vessel, the conduit, this body and mind through which the The Divine expresses itself. This too is spiritual living.

So as we go forth this month, may you be inspired to step more fully into what you are called to architect in your life right now. Build the structure, the environment, the daily rhythms that honor the sacred you: body, mind, and spirit. In doing so, you will not only live spiritually in these times, but you will have the capacity to hold and carry that spiritual living forward.

And don’t worry about having it all figured out or perfect. Simply show up every day on the sacred spiritual path and divine grace will meet you and guide you forward.

Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh once said, “The way I live my life is my message.” That has been resting on my heart ever since. It reminds me that spiritual living is not about grand gestures or lofty titles. it’s about the daily rhythm of how I show up. And how I allow God to move through me. It’s in how I breathe through challenges, how I treat others, how I honor my body, how I let Divine Spirit guide even the small decisions to the biggest.

It’s an about having spiritual courage. And allowing  it to become a spiritual practice.
